OUR PROGRAMS
BioAstra Research Crew Missions

BioAstra’s annual Research Crew Missions are designed to advance space health through collaborative research in molecular biology, bioinformatics, and astronaut health. These fellowships provide students and researchers with the opportunity to address critical challenges in human health for space exploration while developing practical, impactful solutions for the commercial spaceflight sector.
Mission I: Foundations
VIEW MOREOur 2023 inaugural Crew established the foundation of BioAstra’s research efforts, creating datasets that underpin the BioAstra Frontiers Research Program. This mission explored the pharmacogenomic landscape of spaceflight, setting the stage for future advancements in personalized medicine for astronauts.
Mission II: Illuminators
VIEW MOREOur Crew-2: Illuminators Class built on the foundation of Crew-1 by working to transform complex pharmacogenomic data into actionable insights for astronaut health. This mission focused on making genomic protocols accessible and impactful, helping bridge the gap between cutting-edge science and its practical application in space exploration.
Mission III: Propellant
VIEW MOREApply Today! This unique fellowship provides hands-on experience in scientific research translation, peer-reviewed publication, and cross-disciplinary collaboration. Fellows will gain mentorship from top scientists, participate in professional development workshops, and contribute to high-impact projects that will shape the future of multi-planetary life.
